Process - gesture thumbnail
This inked sketch shows how I usually work. I begin by sketching a loose thumbnail drawing at the top of the page. More than anything else, this helps me to get my hand moving, and overcome artist block (the blank page). I rough out the scale and the relative positions, or whatever the "gesture" (movement) is on the page.
Then I pencil, (see previous post), then ink, and erase the pencil lines. This one is mostly erased. The final erasing happens in PhotoShop when I increase the contrast to make it only B/W.
